What a great idea to release this 'zine in it's original form. It took me right back to my bedroom putting the needle in the groove to August Redmoon, Metallica, Metal Massacre & US Metal albums. Living 70 miles south of Tucson, AZ it was a task to get new metal, most of it got thru mailorder, though there was an underground record store called "Roads to Moscow" where I do believe I saw later issues of "Headbanger", but I only had a certian amount of money to spend (Roads marked up their prices) and purchased "Kerrang" instead of the smaller 'zines on offer. Lookin' fwd to future issues...

Even though this is xeroxed copied looking, this one piece of metal material that literally started the metal movement here in California.That was our new wave of heavy metal that exposed many bands that still exist or have disappeared today. It was no kerrang etc but sort of an underground mag. Not the best lice but it really stands the test of metal history. One great piece of metal history!

I bought this one back in December, and just bought issue #2 today! I get so nostalgic reading this stuff. I love it. Please release as many of these as you have!

As has been stated above, it is certainly a Fanzine, not a nationally published magazine, but I think that is what makes it so cool! Oh to have been in LA, as opposed to Owensboro, KY when this was all taking place.

Dax Hayes Alpha of a cougar pack loves his family that was never the question after some problems with one of his fomer employees and helping his sister's MacKenzie deal with her mate who was running scared......he wanted a break to relax but he was also craving to find his mate and start a family of his own.

Effie Parks had a tough life growing up with a mother in prison and her going through the foster care sure her foster parents weren't bad but they didn't truly gave her what she was longing for......love. Until she was placed with a lovely couple, Mark and Claire at the age of sixteen who gave her unconditional love and much more.

A business deal brought Effie and Dax together, the first phone call between Effie and Dax left them both wanting to get to know each other more......When Dax and Effie met for the first time, it was like they both were coming home....The attraction between them was off the charts.

As they continued to work together, they fell in love....Loved the way Effie handled the news about Dax being a shifter and everything else that came regarding her being his One.

Effie's douche bag of ex-boyfriend tried to harm her but he didn't count on Dax coming to her rescue....No matter what Dax and Effie were not going to let anything nor anyone destroy their happiness.

As always it was great to see the characters from the previous series dropping in, in this new venture......Moxie North did a marvelous job, I'm looking forward to the next installment.

As much as I HATED the last book with Dex's sister and her immature, stupid, cruel, did I mention stupid(?) Bear mate who finally after 96% of the book got his head out of his ass and decided to actually mate his mate, big breath, I loved this romance between Dex and Effie. The way that Dex treated Effie is the way that a mate should be treated as far as I'm concerned. Although I wasn't a fan of her personal look, I really liked her personality. And Dex, whew, he's just delicious.. I seriously hope that Cassie is the focus of the next story in the series. I definitely recommend this book. Enjoy!

I have read other works by this author, a book series related to this particular book in fact, which I LOVED. Sadly, I struggled to connect with the female in this book, she was very attached to particular things - defined by them really, seemingly immature, making her very difficult for me to attach to. The other females that she's written I was easily able to imagine and grow to love, most of this book I spent fast forwarding and maybe read a quarter of it before finally skipping to the end. Disappointed.

Nothing much here but okay as a light read

Alot of the stories were familiar- I have heard Lisa speak once before and she might have written about them in the Collective . I am a huge admirer and fan of Lisa's and subscribe to her magazine but this book did not impress me. It sounded like a successful person gloating and waffling on with instagram style inspirations - there was no substance. I would recommend it as a light read, but there is nothing to get stuck into here.

It's rare I can - or do - read a book from cover to cover right away - this was one of those rare occasions. Lisa Messenger shares her amazing journey and message from the highs and lows of her vast entrepreneurial business experience and importantly, her deep self knowledge and awareness, from years of self inquiry, therapy and healing. Grounded, mature, authentic and brave, Lisa shares her philosophy and tips for creating a successful business, or taking a new inventive approach to an existing one. Well written in an easy to read yet compelling way, I love her honesty and willingness to tell the truth - that business and entrepreneurialism are not easy, and the sooner you embrace and accept the idea that you will fall, you will fail, and you will falter along the way, the better... And Is part of the growth, learning, strength, tenacity and confidence you will build along the way - just continue getting up each time you fall and these qualities will take you to the next level and beyond what you could have ever dreamed of. It does help when reading Lisa's book knowing first hand that her experience is authentic and real - having met her in 2004 at a personal growth workshop when we were both going through rough patches in our life and ready to make a huge turnaround, which we did. As a fellow Aussie female entrepreneur at that time, it has been both inspiring and exhilarating for me to witness Lisa's growth, successes and achievements - not only professionally but personally as well - it hasn't always been easy, which is what makes the messages in Daring and Disruptive all the more powerful. The reassurance from someone who has "made it" in the traditional way society views success, got there despite all the odds and the setbacks...and above all, has dug to her very depths to become a truly successful human being - one who is grounded in her true values, strong enough to stick by them, brave enough to create her life and a new business around them, and share her wisdom, knowledge, fears and failures in ways that remind us all the true meaning of success in this life - the ability to live our own life by our own standards and values and use our innate talent and gifts to share with the world in ways that make it a better place. To me, success is measured by our ability to walk our talk, to be a living example of what we believe in and the difference we want to make in the world, leaving it a little bit brighter for us having been here. Lisa does that in spades and reading D&D was the kickstart I needed to finally dig up the courage to share my own story and message in a book of my own. I'm looking forward to Lisa's next book which I hope will include a deeper dive into her life experiences and challenges. Whatever it is, I know it will be amazing.

Waste of Time

I am one of those readers, upon starting a book, must finish, and this book was a total waste of my time. I was pretty excited to read Lisa Messenger's advice to entrepreneurial success, as I followed Collective Hub and wanted to learn more. It's pages are filled with motivational quotes and tired expressions, neither interesting nor inspiring. If you have never taken a basic marketing, branding, or business course, this book may prove helpful to you. If you have taken one of these basic courses, do not waste your time.

About the Author
ANNA HRACHOVEC launched Mochimochi Land (mochimochiland.com), a website and brand of knitted character designs, in early 2007. Her original knitted creations have been featured on television (Nickelodeon, The Martha Stewart Show), all around the web, and in print (The Chicago Tribune, Martha Stewart Living), as well as exhibited in galleries in New York, Seattle, Berlin, Tokyo, and Seoul. Anna has written four previous knitting books: Knitting Mochimochi, Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi, Super-Scary Mochimochi, and Huge & Huggable Mochimochi. She lives in Chicago with her husband, John Teti.

Sequel!

I'm so excited to get another Anna Hrachovec book! I love her tiny knitting books and have made nearly every pattern in her first tiny mochimochi book, Teeny Tiny Mochimochi. I read through the entire thing and there are three stories in the book with different patterns as the characters. The only thing is, there are a very small number of creatures pictured that are not written as patterns. For instance, in the ocean story, the little seashells are not featured as a pattern, nor are the little clowns in the circus scene. (The clowns are available for a price on her website, but I guess they are not mentioned in the book for some reason.) Nevertheless, this book is not to be passed over. It is not full of repeats or anything, like many books are, but rather is different collection of tiny items and slightly larger scenery for three mochimochi land stories.
I recommend this book to anyone who, like me, loved her first book and wants more of Anna's tiny knitting. :)

Although I don't recommend these patterns for beginning knitters

The patterns are clearly written and the designs are amazingly cute. Although I don't recommend these patterns for beginning knitters, I think that once knitting, purling and knitting in the round are under your belt, you can join the fun of Mochimochi Land! From a growing donut to a microwave on the blitz, a blimp, a balloon, and tiny crabs, there's nonstop fun! I've already knit several things (including the carnival tent!) and my needles are waiting for more.

I am amzed that this author's keep getting better and better. Adventures in Mochimochi Land has adorable characters in exciting tales. Who will win the election to be in charge of the treasure chest? Can Ovenston be saved?

There are twenty patterns so you can knit your own cast of characters and create new adventures. I can't wait to start knitting!

Good for the price

It was exactly what it advertised. 48 pages for 99 cents. It was a good read. I really liked that it gave glimpses of both his and her views/thoughts. That is always nice/important in a story. I did find the end to have a bit of a twist or as one reviewer said it 'took a leap'. But I liked that- hello, this is a story. I thought it made it interesting. Especially for a short little story.

Love those Aliens

Human female agent enroute to prison on space ship, escapes to planet with a alien male prisoner. They must survive the wilds of the planet, the evil reptile aliens who wish to send them back to prison, and most of all She must survive KenJa which is when the Alien Male goes into mating heat. Lots of fun. Well written.

Short but fun

This story was incredibly short which meant that there wasn`t much of a build up of character to the relationship between the hero and the heroine. They were basically thrown in together by being the only two people on a deserted planet and having to deal with his need to have sex or die. So there wasn`t much of a story there.

It was still a fun read. It was hot, of course. I wouldn`t have expected any less from Bernadette Gardner - the author of one of my favorite alien/human books Hunter's Moon. But it was also well written and all in all a fun read. A few hours killed with a great little story.
