“El Gusano de Tequila” is the Spanish translation of the award winning “The Tequila Worm.” The translation is as exiting and wonderful as the original English text. Told in a series of vignettes – sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes deeply joyous – it is the story of a young Sofia, a Mexican-American girl growing up in Texas, inventing for herself who and what she will become. Few other books in our time have touched so many readers. The positive role models in the book are a big part of the success of the story and the book in general. The Spanish version of The Tequila Worm (El Gusano de Tequila) is a great addition to any school library or public library with a Spanish speaking population.

Viola Canales, nativa de McAllen, Texas, es graduada de la Universidad de Harvard y la Facultad de derecho de Harvard. Ella ha sido capitán en el Ejército de los Estados Unidos, abogada litigante, y funcionaria en la Administración Clinton. Ella vive en Stanford, California, y enseña un curso de escritura en la Facultad de derecho de Stanford. Viola Canales es la autora de Orange Candy Slices and Other Secret Tales, una colección de historias. A Gread Read for the Spanish Speaking.

The Spanish translation of "The Tequila Worm" is now available. This Great book by the award winning author, Viola Canales, is the story of young Sofia. Told in a vignettes format, the takes place in a Barrio in Texas. The characters are great and strong and take you to places in the heart. I urge any school librarian or public librarian purchase this book for the Spanish speaking community.

Los cuentos en esta novela te obligan apreciar el valor de tradición, la importancia de familia y al mismo tiempo no olvidar quien eres. Este libro te hace reír, llorar y aclamar. Es una novela intemporal que puedes seguir leyendo.

I wanted to read this book in Spanish but my kindle was not using my Spanish-English dictionary, instead it went to my English dictionary. After several tries to correct this with customer service i was assured that I would get a message very soon saying the problem was fixed. I never did.
